Wapenamanda celebrate World Aids Day in Style

Posted by Dorish on December 10, 2010

World Aids Day day March, Wapenamanda, Enga Province

The little community of Mambisanda and the rural hospital made sure World Aids day was still observed. It was a pity some local institutions did not take heed of this speacil marked day to observe and remember those that lost the battle to this incurable virus.

On the first of December, all activities took place….while we had the games on…there was a compensation on the other side and a high school graduation on the other side of the station. That did not spoil our activities planned for that day. The crowd turn up was excellent and and every thing went well according to plan and schedule.

On the 1st: that day the staff of Immanuel Lutheran Rural hospital together with a local stalkholder took tot the main highlands highway. We marched from the Hospital to the Wapenamanda School grounds…were it all happened. We had stand up commedy in between breaks and boy i could see all faces absorbing the message with million questions all out…..so much fun. just hope the message did get absorbed that day. Similar activities were celebrated across the world am sure.

Millions of people continue to be infected with HIV every year. In low- and middle-income countries, less than half of those in need of antiretroviral therapy are receiving it, and too many do not have access to adequate care services.read more
